Comedian Dom DeLuise makes his movie debut as the Sgt. who is forced to tell the Soviets how to detonate the warheads on the bombersnot one of his funnier moments.

Thanks! Saw him in the credits as "Sgt. Collins" and I was trying to figure out who that was. I also didn't recognize Larry Hagman either until the end credits identifies him as Buck. I was able to pick our Boss Hogg though!

Yeah, I've always wanted to know the backstory on how he got this role.
I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.

I saw this for the first time last night with a film discussion group in my neighborhood. He pops up and half the audience groans and chuckles. I stared at him for a second and thought "is it?"
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.

Dom DeLuise was outstanding in a rare serious role. He totally nailed the anguish his character feels about giving the Russians vital information on how to down the bomber planes.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
