I've always wondered about his name. It's so unusual that I wonder if it was purposely done for some reason. While I assume it's an actual Dutch or German name, I think it was chosen because it's so similar to "grotesque". Has anybody ever read anything about it?
Everyone may have an opinion but very few seem to have an informed one.
