Ive only seen stills and the original CGI showreel by The Moving Picture Company, which I understand are nothing to do we the actual series, which I last heard, the first two episodes have been completed. Fancis Matthews and Ed Bishop did the voices on the new one-off pilot but unfortunatley, they have been axed for the series, which is rather upsetting. Anyone one know of any places where we can find how the series is progressing? I'm signed up with the TV 21 Century website. And there's always the Fanderson website.

Team America: World Police in Oct 2004 is pretty darn close.
Gerry Anderson himself is remaking Captain Scarlet as a CGI series.

As long as Frakes is not involved with Captain Scarlet I would like to see a movie of it. The Thunderbirds movie really looked like Joe 90. I think Dr Who resurrector Russell T Davies would be an ideal choice to make a Captain Scarlet movie.

I think Russell T Davies revival of Doctor Who is so good because he's a huge fan of previous series and understands Doctor Who extremely well. However find someone with a similar intimate knowledge of Thunderbirds and they could do the same for it. I would love to see a hypermarionation version of most of the shows based on how good CGI Captain Scarlet is.

There was once in The Sun a little piece in Biz that suggested a movie was going to be made starring Shane Richie as Scarlet! I find that rather amusing and highly improbable! But I wouldnt rule a film out. Doubt it'll be something we see in the next 2-3 years though. Beyond that, who knows?

there were quite a few problems with the thunderbirds movie. As was already said it was turned into thunderbirds meets the spy kids type of movie, alan was just far too young. I always invisioned him as being early 20s, maybe just a touch younger, but certainly not a school kid. Scott, Virgil and John I figured were between 30-35 give or take, then Gordon somewhere in between them and Alan. Then there was the fact they all looked like models and sported those shocking mcfly-esque hairstyles.
They completely disregarded one of the major points of the original series that the IR operation was supposed to be as secret as they could possibly keep it, stopping people from taking pictures, especially the media. The first time you see the thunderbirds in the film is when they're on TV for goodness sake. I also didnt like the fact they pretty much all went on every mission (didnt like the fact Jeff went on missions at all either). Scott should be in TB1 on his own 99% of the time, going ahead of the rest of them to see exactly what they need, Virgil with TB2 carrying whatever they need, possibly with Alan/Gordon/John/Brains/TinTin if they need extra help.
Ben Kingsley is a superb actor but I dont think he was right for the Hood (i always thought the Hood was Chinese!) and his eyes should have glowed more like the Goa'uld from Stargate, yellowish white like the original Hood not Red. Then there's the storyline, he makes it to the Island straight away, he doesnt die, which means he can easily get back there again and again if there is ever a sequel.
Anyway, enough of my ranting about that over, aside from all that I think Captain Scarlet would probably translate more into a live-action movie than either Thunderbirds did or Stingray would to be honest, especially using the uniform designs from New Captain Scarlet as well

Say here was a movie, who would play the characters? Your suggestions.
I think Daniel Craig - Captain Blue
Angels are like diamonds - they can't be made, you have to find them

Nice Blue. But the original may be more convincing(!) I'll wait till I see Bond.I have always felt that Gary Sinise looks a bit Captain Black to me.

I have to say that I MIGHT HAVE picked Billy Zane to play Scarlet. With a FULL head of hair, blue eye contacts, he really REALLY could look the part. Im not sure how good he'd be at the accent (what ever kind they'd intend to go with) or just general acting. Ive always liked him.
Im not sure about other choices but I have to agree with everyone elses thoughts so far on the other spectrum members.

I think Clive Owen would make a better Captain Black, to be honest, but Bale would be a great Scarlet.

                                Great casting suggestions guys, here's a full list and a plot;
                                Captain Scarlet - Christian Bale
Captain Blue - Daniel Craig (he hacked an American accent decent enough in Road to Perdition)
Captain Black - Jason Statham (can be one sinister mofo when need be)
Colonel White - John Cleese, Eric Idle, Tom Baker (just braistorming kick-ass old school British actors), or Ian McDiarmid
Angels - Halle Berry, Jess Alba, Megan Fox, anything to get the ladies in aslong as they get equal screen time as the males
For plot I'm thinking of some of the spin-off audio stories that are still available on Cassette, dunno about Cd, especially Introducing Captain Scarlet - a press conference explaining his back-story and that of Black and the one with the electro-ray rifle they use to kill Black at the end.
Actually the plot should be eliminating Mysteron threat in kick-ass action scenes as the sub-plot and hunting down Black as the main one, making it a blockbuster sci-fi detection story as I interpreted the original puppet series to be.
Also, I think the violence should be pushed to the PG-13/ possilby R bracket as Anderson originally intended to capture a more adult audience with the original puppet series. It won't turn out like the lame Thunderbirds movie if it happens this way.
I'm also thinking of someone along the lines of Michael Bay to direct it, not MR FRAKES!

i reckon u could do a captain scarlet movie trilogy, not pg rated aswell it has dark and twisted qualities for an sci-fi thriller

Yeah, trilogy sounds amazing, more box office revenue.
Also I just had a rethink about the director, it should be Christopher Nolan as he specialises in film noir/sci-fi stuff like Dark Knight and Inception.
Also they should have as little CG as possible and do the effects with life size models and minatures.
First movie just re-cap what they did in the original series, 2nd they should do that story from the original episode arc of Lunarville 7, Crater 101 and Dangerous Rendezvous, the last should be original material comprised with spin-off comic stories and audio adventures.
                                    How about that?
