I did similar and was teasing and triggered a school acquaintance in high school along with another kid. He sparked up and went for me. I ended up taking the brunt of the blame when a teacher came along due to being the instigator.
He just aggravated me, but it wasn't something I needed to do and while I don't really regret it, I know I was in the wrong. This is just schoolyard bullshit.
I almost had one with my dad when he threatened me, but I took the high road with him and just stared him down. If I got too hostile, it might have been nasty as I was late teens.

Recently on facebook someone was sharing her experience of being physically abused by a pervious partner
I just happened to say that I don't attract or am I attracted to controlling types
Someone took offense to that and thought I was being judgemental
I wasn't victim blaming, I've just been fortunate

My sister was lecturing me recently and I told her I have good instincts

Can't even count how many times I've been involved in physical altercations. Used to get in trouble all the time from elementary school to middle school because I'd constantly get into fights. Also had the cops called on me a few times because of "physical altercations" I've had with my brother and/or my dad.
Would tell a few stories about some notable ones, but I can't imagine anyone would want to read all of it. So I guess I'll just say I've been in fights where I won rather handily and I've been in fights where I got knocked out immediately. Also been in fights that just sort of ended with myself and the person I was fighting just getting too tired to go on and mutually agreeing to just drop it and go play video games or chill out somewhere.

Sure, I got a temper. Used to have a really bad one before I discovered the miraculous healing powers of alcohol, pot, and filmboards.
To be honest, most of the physical altercations I've been involved in weren't really caused by my temper but were really the result of me having to deal with a lot of assholes in my life who thought I would never defend myself no matter if they were bigger and/or stronger than me.

Unfortunately, no. I assure you getting into physical fights with your father, and to such a severity that police get involved, is not part of a normal healthy relationship. Are you friendly with your father?

I thought this was a stupid question until I read the responses. I can't comprehend how a man can go through life without getting into a fight. It's unnatural.
I'm not even aggressive, yet I've had dozens of fights. And if we're counting school, hundreds. How can any man have had none?
What has happened to this world?

Precipitate doesn't mean exactly what you think it means, by the way. Many of the fights I've had weren't "precipitated" by anybody. They may have been planned, or been on the cards for days or weeks, just waiting for the two of us to cross paths.
Sometimes they were started by others, sometimes by me. Sometimes over serious issues, sometimes over trivia.
I think the west would be a far better place to live if the population didn't break out into hysterics every time one man hits another. The stress and tension built up in men of our times must be overwhelming for some of them. It has to be released somehow. A good fight often clears the air.
