If so, who precipitated it?

If another man "provoked" you, you'd be paralysed with fear, looking around for somebody else to take care of the problem for you. That's your nature. You're a lefty.

During advanced infantry training. The other guy attacked me, striking me with a broomstick. I back him up against a wall but he ducked under my arms, grabbed me around the middle and body slammed me. It bounced my head off the tile but that just made me angry and released a ****load of adrenaline. We wrestled and I ended up on top. He was pinned & I was in a position to literally kill the guy or beat him into a coma. I chose not to. Then when asked by the sergeant if I wanted to pursue an article 15 again I said no as long as the guy agree to leave me alone. If I had known we would end up at the same duty station, same platoon, same squad and how much grief he would cause later I would have ended him right there.

In high school, the school bully threw some trash at me. I threw it back. He got in my face during lunch, told him to throw a punch which he did, and I hit him back. It was broken up after a minute of us fighting in front of everyone.
In college, some skinny drug-powered white kid broke into my then-girlfriendβs apartment and watched us sleeping for a few minutes. I got up and fought him briefly, then let him run off to get caught by the police.
Stop.
