I really dislike parallel universe / parallel planetary evolution, etc, etc, etc, because one has to explain how two things can be simultaneously like and not like each other.
I won't argue the Geezer's point here, but Mirror Mirror is tremendous fun. I find it vastly entertaining.
As with all my Trek, I don't try to put it under a microscope too much as things tend to fall apart.
But in terms of pleasure, for me it's pure joy.
