    Hi folks,
I wonder how they made the scene with the fortress which is blown up prematurely when "Hrundi Bakshi" takes a seat on the apparatus igniting the explosives 🙂
Could only have been done with a model, or am I wrong?
    Regards

It was a model. Hard to determine what scale it was built to, as there is really no other point of reference in the shot.
Probably built from small bricks and mortar, as when it exploded, it shattered into (reasonably) realistic bits. There were two or three charges, if I recall correctly.
Additionally, Hrundi doesn't 'take a seat' as you put it. He actually notices that his sandal thong is undone, and he puts his foot onto the T-handle of the detonator in an attempt to tie it up, and well..
TOP movie! I never get tired of watching it.

        Hello anubis-45,
thanks for your reply. When for quite some time nobody posted any answer, I already thought noboby would care to answer my silly question 😉
And now that you mention the detail, yes, of course you're right - it wasn't like taking a seat but just as you described the scene.
Just three of my favourite scenes in that movie:

        1. When the waiter finds repeatedly that Hrundi woudn't take one of the Martini's (or what it was) offered to him, and he decides to drink them himself - at one point he's so drunk that he walks through the water instead of using the stones
        2. When Hrundi desperately searches for the room where there is the toilet and opens one door - and in one small room there are half a dozen people, all soming, and one just snaps at Hrundi "no place left!" or something like that (in the German version it's just "Besetzt!")
        3. When the house is flooded and upon the owners "Save the pictures! The precious pictures!" one of his employees comes along with the giant portrait of his wife he just snarls "I said the PRECIOUS pictures - hang it back on the wall!" - and many more could be listed
          Kind regards
