Do you think they made it out?

Butch and Sundance knew they were finished when they were injured and taking cover.
I didn't think so.
I was under the impression they thought it was still just a handful of police and could shoot their way out of it and had no idea a whole army showed up.

You can tell by the rapid gunfire as they took shelter that it was already far more than just a handful of police.
They knew they were surrounded and ran out into the open towards shooters who they knew were waiting for them.
They didn't know how many they were up against but they knew it was enough that they weren't going to make it.
Their dialogue when they were taking cover was bravado. -

Listen to what they are saying to each other before they go back out.
This does not sound like two men who know they are doomed but instead as if they expect to shoot their way out of it and onto freedom to stay alive.

I believe that all movies are always open to one's own interpretation and there is no right or wrong.
So if that is what you want to think you just go on right ahead.
And I will still think they didn't know what was out there.

Like I said…
They didn't know that the army was assembling out there but they knew from what they had encountered before taking cover that there was already enough people surrounding them that they weren't going to survive. -

I am not going to agree.
You have your take on it, which is not obvious and the minority would agree, and I have mine, which is obvious where the majority would agree, and that is that.
You can either accept this or be a stubborn, stupid narrow minded asshole insisting that you are right.
What's it going to be?

I was trying to negotiate a compromise but you just insist on being a stubborn asshole who won't budge with his wrong take of the final scene.
I showed and proved how I am right.
They do not say anything about being killed, numbers out there etc.
What they say and do shows how they think they are going to get out of it alive.
You are just making up something that they do not show in their words and actions.
What are you?
A ****ing mind reader of characters in movies?
LMAO!
I doubt it.
If you want to further insist on somehow being "right," then you have to prove it by showing that moment you are talking about with the "rapid gunfire."
If you don't have that then you are wrong.

They shot the guy who had the Gatling gun and turned that against the rest of the army and got out of it that way Rambo style, baby!
