Perhaps I'm having a senior moment or some kind of odd flashback, but I distinctly remember hearing Wild Man Fischer's rendition of "Merry-Go Round" during the Roller Derby sequence the first few times I saw this film in the theater. Of course I may have it confused with the Roller Derby sequence in the film "Petulia". Can anyone back me up on this or am I just crazy like the Wild Man! And if sowhy is not on the DVD??? Anyone?

No senior moment. I remember hearing that song as well on the VHS version of this film I saw almost 20 years ago. Copyright reasons I will assume is why it is replaced by the Harlem Globtrotter theme song(!) on the DVD.
The 'Trivia' section explains this further.

I saw the film last night at the American Cinematheque (Wexler did a q and a afterwards) and Wildman Fischer's "Merry Go Round" (doop doop doop!) was indeed included in the roller derby scene. very funny stuff. My dvd has Sweet Georgia Brown (the Globe Trotter's music) too. I wish i remembered this I could have asked him. Between my wife and I we got in three questions. darn.
If memory serves correct, Wildman Fischer and, I think, Gail Zappa are warring over the rights to "An Evening with Wild Man Fischer" and, again, I think, I read somewhere she will never rerelease the record. Not sure what the Wildman did. Maybe he pooped on her couch? Very sad. The world needs more Wildman.

Confirmation on a couple of things:
- I owned a VHS copy of this movie in the 1980s, and it indeed did have "Merry-Go-Round" laid over the roller derby sequence. An item in the trivia section addresses why it's not there any more.
- Zappa confirmed in an interview on the old Larry King radio show (again back in the '80s), in response to a call about Fischer, that there was at least one incident at chez Zappa that landed the Wild Man on his Sean Young list. I specifically remember Zappa saying that Fischer broke some of the kids' toys. Don't remember the bottle incident being mentioned, but that could be my faulty memory; it's certainly plausible.
