How old was she supposed to be? I couldn't make out what she said in her rant. Did she say she was 28 years old? Because I thought she looked in her 40's at least. IMDB says Sylvia Miles was born in 1932, which would have made her 26 at the time of filming

If the movie was filmed in '68, then she'd have been around 36.

Thanks for the clarification. Math obviously isn't my strong suit. I think what you quoted was what showed up in the closed captioning. Was there an earlier exchange when Joe told her he was 28? Seems odd to be so specific. My first impression was this was one of those women who's going to be "29" forever - in this case, "28"

That's funny, I was just watching this movie last night and always took it Cass was grossly exaggerating her age. Either that, or she was in complete denial as she was clearly past 28.
I would have put Joe Buck at no older than 25 in the movie and Cass as a hard 40-45.
