    I’m careful to always thank someone verbally since I used to forget to because I’m a dick. When it comes to emails, it feels somewhat superfluous and spammy. Still, I do it because people are sensitive -and needy these days.

      It depends on the circumstances, but if someone has been very helpful then yes I'll say thank you.
      If it's that guy who emails me telling me I've been left a legacy of USD17,000,000, then I just send him my Bank details.
