Rupert of the Rhine was the King's nephew, he was was played by Timothy Dalton if that's who you're refering to.

That was Rupert, Count Palatine of the Rhine or Prince Rupert of the Rhine and if ever a film deserved to be made of anyones life its this guy, instead of being played as bit parts in films, This guy had an amazing career not just as a Soldier but also equally at home in the Navy not forgetting scientist, sportsman, colonial governor and amateur artist during the 17th century,A staunch supporter of his Uncle Charles 1st and in fact when he was asked by LouisXVI to fight for France against the Spanish after the First English Civil War Rupert accepted but only on the condition that should trouble flare up again in England that he would leave French service to fight for King Charles, should he be called upon to do so, So yes quite a man you can see the latest incarnation of Rupert in the 2015 film 'Admiral/Michiel de Ruyter and once again its only fleeting, Google him what a life he had and has i said this man really deserves a movie of his own
        'My God,it's full of stars
