Although this film is pretty sparse, it sure beats Paris, Texas in cinematography and story as well.

It certainly beats "Paris, Texas" in cinematography and overall, but I'd call them roughly even in terms of story. If this had stronger performances, this would be an excellent film. Instead, the landscapes are the real stars here.
