I think they mean the making-of featurette.
But this one's eating my popcorn!

I thought so too but then she said this
It's not like you see the narrator in commentaries, you just hear the voice or voices. But there is a commentary track on the full-length feature version.
She was so very emphatic about it.

From whatever photos of Cary Loftin can be seen on the 'net, we can clearly see he was not in the cafe.

No, that wasn't him. He never even came into the caf.

Good point. The trucker parked in the parking lot to further torment Mann.

That guy was right about the import commentary track, but it wasn't Spielberg, it was Dick Matheson and George Eckstein. I don't remember what they said about the diner scene, but such a thing does exist.

Carey Loftin played the role of the truck driver and his face is never shown in the cafe at all

This may be true. But since Carey Loftin as a real-life person is different from the truck driver as a fictitious person, it is still possible that in the universe of the film, the truck driver was in fact in the caf. Or maybe he wasn't. I think this uncertainty is intentional. It's a brilliant ploy of Spielberg to never show the face of the driver in the truck, to create the feeling of being exposed to a faceless anonymous menace; but making it possible, though not certain, that the driver is one of the people in the caf is even more brilliant, because it adds another level of uncertainty: We don't even know for sure if the menace is as anonymous and faceless as we thought at first.

What's funny is as soon as the big guy who got in a fight with Mann left the diner and a few seconds later the rig leaves. Why couldn't it be that guy?

I also thought it was the guy who left the cafe first. The way he touched the front of the truck, but then suddenly drove away in another car. My thought was that he just drove that car to the back of the cafe and then returned to the truck. BUT the times you see the drivers arm you can see that he is wearing a longsleeved shirt (which is rolled back from his forearm). The guy from the cafe wears a shortsleeved shirt.
Its not the guy who gets in a fight with David Mann at the cafe. The points of his boots is different from the ones the driver wears as you can see earlier when he checks his tires at the gas station.
After a rewatch yesterday, my theory is that the driver never entered the cafe.

Just how ignorant can you be? Carey Loftin was the truck driver and hes clearly not shown in the diner. Have you done any research on this movie?
