The shag/ape drape/whatever absolutely WAS the rage in the early 70s, because Jane Fonda looked so sexy in it. There were some guys who looked hot in it too, invariably with a mustache. But while many were called, few were chosena lot who wore that fashionable cut back in the day looked bad in it, including my trig teacher. Sorry Mr. Ziminski!

She reminded me of Tegan and Sara.
I realise that's grossly uncool. I have a checkered past.

I have never heard of the "ape drape" also. It may have officially been called the "ape drape" for 5 minutes before someone realised it was a horrible name and that women wouldnt want to ask for a hairstyle called the ape drape and so it became "the shag" as everyone knows it.

An "ape drape" is actually a mullet and not a shag. Look at all the photographs in google images.

I loved Bree's haircut. On Jane Fonda it looked damn sexy.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
