I was channel surfing this morning and came across the last 15 minutes of this movie. I kept marveling at how much Mary looked like Joely Richardson. Then I figured it must be Vanessa Redgrave. Waited to the credits to see that indeed it was Vanessa. So neat to see how much she looked like her daughter when she was younger.

Vanessa Redgrave was married to the director Tony Richardson for just a few years. Long enough to have two beautiful and talented daughters; 1st - Natasha Richardson (who bears a strong resemblance to Vanessa's father, the late great actor Michael Redgrave, but with her mother's mouth and smile), 2nd - Joely Richardson, who really looks like a beautiful combination of her mother and father. Vanessa had a son by Franco Nero (Carlo Gabriel Nero), her Lancelot in "CAMELOT", and miscarried another child by him. Carlo is a director and very handsome, as are his parents. Vanessa and all her family are wonderful actors. If you don't know her other movies look them up here on this site and then rent the ones you can. She WAS beautiful, and still is, I think. Both her parents were great British actors. Michael was a wonderful actor, as well as handsome. Her sister is Lynn Redgrave and brother Corin, whose daughter Gemma Redgrave has been in some films with Vanessa. Vanessa lived with Timothy Dalton after Nero for 14 yrs, apparently, and has been back with Nero for quite some time since. Vanessa and Jane Fonda were in the movie "JULIA", for which Vanessa won a Best Supporting Oscar, and according to things I have read they became lifelong friends. It interests me that some people only know Vanessa through her wonderful daughters achievements. But the Redgraves, Richardsons, and Neros are an acting dynasty who are well worth knowing about.

Miranda Richardson is not related directly to Vanessa Redgrave nor to Tony Richardson. She is the legitimate daughter of an English couple from Southport, UK. She shares only the last name of "Richardson," and is an amazing and talented actress in her own right.
