that had no music in it all all. Guess the director wanted a feel of realism and what these people's lives were like. One of the best and most underrated Al Pacino movies I ever saw, for sure. I taped it off Cinemax in the early 1990's, because there was no way to get it on video then.

There are actually quite a few movies without a soundtrack, the idea being that all emotions should emanate from the acting and the story. On the other hand, it would have been nice to include a song - just one tune - as a point of reference to the addicts' frame of mind. In the same way that "Everybody's Talkin'" blended perfectly with the characters in Midnight Cowboy (another great film of that era).
