I've seen this movie many times but today for the first time I noticed a subliminal flash of text across the screen. About 51 mins in when the little bot is telling the story.
It's details like that which elevate this movie above standard fare. This is true experimental film making and yet at the same time, an approachable and rewarding film.

I've never noticed that before either - maybe it's not on other prints of the film? Still don't know what it meant though.

I just went through it frane by frame. It is a very dry report on the export of construction materials. Probably related to the father's job in some way.
