Good grief. What a ridiculous thread. If you dislike the fact that someone was on a particular show, fine, but your so-called reasons are a bunch of mean-spirited ad hominem attacks. For one, did you ever consider that Brett Somers never claimed she was a supermodel, or the most attentive panelist, etc? The other panelists poked fun at her now and then for acting a little absentminded, or for forgetting what she wrote, or giving a subpar answer, etc. In fact, she poked fun at herself too!
Look, if "Match Game" wanted a panel of comic geniuses, highly attractive people, etc., then "Match Game" probably would have had them! The show was popular because someone unlike you, apparently had the insight to figure out what qualities do make a good panelist. FYI, the IMDb Trivia page for MG73 says of the first episode: "Klugman was reluctant to appear at first, but agreed on one condition: that his wife Brett Somers also appear as a panelist on a later date."
So come up with some real reasons and stop attacking people on such shallow grounds! The only ugly thing I see here is your attitude! -

She was the best! She was originally on the show because Klugman wouldn't do it without her, but she was such a hit that she became a regular. I always turn it off when she isn't on, it's just not as good.

But the sheer bulk of them were shallow.
She may have gotten her initial episode thanks to her (then-husband), but her chemistry with Gene Rayburn and Charles Nelson-Reilly ensured she stayed. Indeed, her then-husband was a real piece of work to her ON the show - no wonder she would later divorce him; the problems they had in real life were a bit more considerable than what was shown on screen (whether her then-husband was trying to be funny, it certainly did not come across that way!) -

Actually, Brett & Jack Klugman never divorced. They separated and Jack subsequently hooked up with some women over the years, but there was no legal termination of their marriage. Shortly before their respective deaths, both of them spoke of their frequent contact and amiable separation. They certainly weren't the first couple who loved each otherbut didn't like each other.

FUNNY IS LIKE CUTE either you are or you're not. If you work to be either you end up obnoxious and annoying. Brett works very very hard to be both and fails miserably, of course that is true for almost all panelists on game shows Part of the blame goes to the writers of the supposed ad libs that these panelists struggle to make appear spontaneous. Good actors can sometimes overcome bad writting but not these 2nd-3rd rate "talents" but at least she's better than charles nelson riley [he does not deserve capital letters]

I've never been privy to Brett Sommers, but she really is part of the structure and form of how Match Game was shaped and adored, even though she wasn't even on the first couple of weeks of the showin her defense tho', she absolutely RULES in every guest appearance she ever made as Blanche, Oscar Madison's (Jack Klugman!)ex-wife on The Odd Couple series, and yes, regarding her MG run she can be really hard to take sometimes and most of her one liners fall flat and are met with deaf silence, BUT she was part of the team nucleus that consisted of (like it or not) her, Gene, Richard until he split in 1978 and Charles. As great as people like Betty White and McLean Stevenson (who to me, did some of his funniest work of all time on MG) were, they were not part of that core teamthe show always revolved around themand besides, Brett is great when she plays the comic foil to all of Charles Nelson Reilly's hysterical witticisms and good natured insults towards her.
