Aside from the inept soldiers dressed in white, I thought The Crazies shared some eerily similar traits with Star Wars. It had civilians rebelling against a perceived greater evil. One of the civilians looked a LOT to me like Han Soloweird, maybe just a coincidence, but still
And one of the rebel girls looked a LOT like a young Sissy Spacek, who any real Star Wars fan knows was the original choice to play Princess Leia.
Anyways, just my two cents -

Sorry man, I don't buy that. The whole idea of "faceless minions" has been in scores of movies since the dawn of film and before that in litrature. The fact that the troops are in white NBC suits is handy for the conspiracy theorists but that's about it
