Czech sounds beautiful!

I never really liked eastern european languages, but czech is a beautiful language. I dont know if it is only because Libuse Safrankova talks in such a sweet and beautiful way, but on the other hand I also liked the sound of other people talking, like the kind and the queen. Too bad I didnt understand a single word, I heard great things about this film so I downloaded it as I couldnt find it in video stores or anywhere else, but without subtitles I could not understand the details, even if the story was easy to understand and the beauty of Libuse makes you forget you dont understand a single word they are saying. My question is what Libuse say when they are dancing and she runs away and why did she run away?

Oh, thanks! I like my language so much, not only that it is my language, but also that I think it has lots of possibilities - you can show your feelings about subject you talk about by using one word
Popelka doesn't want to be recognized because there are her stepmother and her daughter Dora. Popelka gives the prince a riddle, in fact three riddles, to give him a hint for guessing who she is. But he doesn't know. So she tells him, that she won't marry him unless he guesses the riddle, and then she runs away.
Then he runs after her, his friends with him (probably because they weren't enjoying themselves on the ball) and they find out where she comes from. And finally he also realises who she is, with help of her old friend (Vladimir Mensik, now I cannot remember what's his name in the film) and probably also with help of her owl Rozarka.
It's a pity that you didn't understand a single word, because this film is also very funny. The prince and his friends have some arguments with Popelka in the forest and their quotes are great. -

I thought many moments in the film was quite funny even without understanding a single word. In the forrest the simple facial expression of the characters made me smile and the prince beeing bored in the ball while all girls where overexcited to meet him was quite funny aswell. Thanks for explaining why she ran away, I think I understood most other important parts of the film. The characters, cinemography, musc and story was enought to make me feel the mood of the film, but it would prob be much greater with subtitles.

If you wanna know what they are talking about in the film go to http://www.mujweb.cz/www/engsubsforczmovies/Subtitles.htm and download the subtitles. I cannot guarantee that they are 100% accurate but I suppose it's better than nothing.
