Joe Don, hands down. I like Bo, but no matter how hard he tried, there is always a slight hint of Sweden in his accent.

Joe Don Baker grew up about 30 miles from my hometown, so I am partial to him, both men were good, But Joe Don I think was best as Bufford

                Without a doubt, Joe Don!

I like Joe Don. Then Bo, then Brian Denehy (from the
                    Last American Hero
TV movie), and then the Rock. I like the Rock a lot, but I think he was playing a different character just inspired by Buford Pusser, so I rank him fourth. And I don't rate Kevin Sorbo at all he's an untalented moron.
Buford's daughter loves Joe Don - I think they almost count him as family - and she also likes the Rock a lot; she said he was very nice and respectful to her family. But she doesn't have much nice to say about Bo Svenson. Apparently he was a complete jerk to her when she was a little girl. Pretty much the first thing he said to her when he met her was "You're fat, you should go on a diet." Which doesn't speak well of Bo at all. Kinda surprising that anybody'd be that nasty to a kid.

                        Definitely Joe Don Baker.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
