We were watching Walking Tall Part 2 last night and I knew that that was not the same guy playing Obra as from the first movie, he was too dark. The two actors look nothing alike so why would they replace Felton Perry with that other guy?

"Walking Tall" was released in August of '73. Felton Perry went on to accept a small role as a firefighter in "The Towering Inferno" which was released in December of '74, meaning it was quite possible that Perry was contracturally unavilable to reprise the role of Obra Eaker for "Walking Tall, Part 2"hence, the re-cast.

Well for that matter way was Joe Don Baker replaced?
AFAIC they both did a fine job.

Joe Don Baker was replaced by Bo Svenson because up until his death Buford Pusser was to play himself in Walking Tall Part 2. Unfortunatly Buford was killed before filming started. Joe Don Baker was already committed to another movie by this time so they went with Bo Svenson
