I love that show! There may be moments you can call saccharine, but I wouldn't define the whole show that way. There are some pretty dark moments.

Same here. You’ll see me totally trolling this show here in these threads; because after all, the show makes itself an easy target. But it’s one of my all time favorites.
The very similar, but short lived Father Murphy (Also produced by Michael Landon, and also featuring Jonathan Garvey, and the woman that played Donna’s mother in 90210, and who’s married in real life to the dude that played Almanzo in little house) is also a pretty decent show.
I wish they hadn’t really destroyed that beautiful little town in the final movie. It would have made a great little tourist attraction.
