It's all in this

Being unable to recognise satire I can occasionally account for Dazed, different lived experience or what have you, but this film was recognised by the Library of Congress in the US and immortalised within its records as an example of a movie which is "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant" during 2006.
Recognising satire and knowing the need for satire are two very different things!
The whole point of the movie was to show the silliness of prejudice and make people smile while thinking about how they approach their views on others or indeed others views upon them.
Crazy world to 'trigger warning' this when there are plenty of things going on in this world which could use that attention and energy to help increase the quality of life (Or even length of life!) for plenty of people who are without.

The way I see it, this film is a work of fiction. In other words, it isn't real. It's pretend. Pity other people are unable to make that particular distinction.

I think those who are upset at it are also playing pretend Woody and I think, in the long game, what they think they are seeing everywhere has only ever been in their own heads.
It's a rape culture we live in?
That's not a healthy mindset to walk around with, they are focusing on something that regular people don't think about too much. That there is where we'll find the real prejudice people

One of the toxic side effects caused by political correctness is that an increasingly larger volume of people see themselves as victims in one way or another. I agree with you that it creates a very unhealthy mindset.

It would seem that the current battle for the bottom position is being won by white women for some reason. Not all of them by any measure but certainly a loud minority who feel suitably authorised to lecture anyone on why they are bad people.
Really stops the energies and attention getting to those who genuinely need help to stand on their own two feet
