Life of Brian. I do love Holy Grail though.

Holy Grail has funnier moments (but some moments that miss the mark), whereas Brian is a stronger film overall with fewer misses.
Personally, my favourite of the two is Holy Grail simply because I laugh harder.

For me it's almost a tie, but if I must choose, I'd say 'Life of Brian' simply because of the feelgood ending song.

the ending is one part of Grail that i don't like. yes, it's done for comic effect, but it ruins the story.

Holy Grail because it is my favorite comedy of all time. However Life of Brian is second.

                  Holy Grail.
Life of Brian shows better evolved cinematic craftmanship, but the holy grail is the more pythonesque movie and for that reason alone remains invictus.

                    Holy Grail, but only just!
I like both films, but Grail seems more hardcore to me; given the budgetary constraints, and Chapman's ongoing problem with alcoholism during filming, it just feels more in keeping with Python - raw & spontaneous; whereas "Brian" had a far bigger budget, a more generous production crew & studio behind it. And as a consequence I felt it to be a little too "nicely packaged", even though it still remains a classic Python film.

The big studio copped out at the last minute. Instead, the movie had George Harrison behind it. 😉

I'm going to go with Brian, but just barely.
Meaning of Life also has it's great moments and plenty of them, although over all it's the weakest.

Life of Brian, without a doubt. Grail is lame in comparison.

HO;y Grail, I find it funnier, more quotable, and more truly Python,
It is not our abilities that show who we truly areit is our choices

Those scenes in LIFE OF BRIAN were great, true satire, but it's too bad the movie veered off into that revolutionary plot line and stopped being a parody.
Holy Grail is a much better film.

It's the same question as what's funnier with Mel Brooks, Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein. YF is like LOB, more subtle, while Holy Grail is like Blazing Saddles, a celebration of greatness.

                                      Life of Brianno, wait aaaaAAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHHHHHH.!
I came here expressly to put LIFE OF BRIAN, but after reading some of the comments and how Grail is more hardcore and pythonesque, I'm going to say BOTH. But wait, I can't I have to pick one. So I'll still say Life of Brian. I literally used to be one of those annoying people who knew the script word for word.

I vote Life of Brian, but I'm not a hardcore Monty Python fan. I concede that the hardcore fans nearly always prefer Holy Grail.
