It’s likely 2020 will be the best year we have for a long while

Given the nature of the problems that have made this year suck so much, namely: economic crisis, pandemic, civil unrest, political instability. These sorts of things don’t resolve quickly and will likely worsen in the coming years.

I think the Pandemic will make it the worst year. Jesus Christ, at least I hope this paranoia and lockdown ends. If so it will be better in 2021. Anything is better than this.
I actually think civil unrest and political instability are good though. It shows people are engaged and ready to make necessary changes. Political stagnation is much worse.
It's a good sign that Trader Joe's didn't knuckle under and told the race baiters to shove it.

- Nobody knows where the pandemic is going in the short run. I’d say an educated guess is vaccine in 1-2+ years, hence lockdown for the rest of this year and no reason to expect that to change due to a new year. Also, flu season is coming which means fly+covid both infecting people.
- I agree. The problem is it exacts a toll when it’s violent like this, namely businesses are hurt, people are hurt and scared, and during a pandemic this sort of stuff increases rate of infections which leads to harsher lockdowns for anyone not protesting (lol)
- Economic recession is the big one. This could take multiple years to sort out and I think this will be the real killer of people who aren’t otherwise “at risk” of death by Covid.
Trader Joe’s didn’t nix their trader Pedro and other mildly racist brand names? Tf you talkin bout, Willis?

I've heard there will be a vaccine in early 2021 but who knows. Right wing conspiracy theorists say it's a plot to inject us all with microchips.
You make a good point about the economic impact. The government is handing out money to people like there's no tomorrow. And business has been crippled probably beyond repair. A Great Depression is a great possibility.
