I adore David Wayne. I really liked him in The Andromeda Strain.
He was the original OG in Finians Rainbow on Broadway, also the original Ensign Pulver in Mr Roberts.
But my all time favorite David Wayne moment was on an episode of House Calls, when he performed September Song, my all time favorite.

I haven't seen any of those! That
        House Calls
        episode sounds kind of neat.

I admit that I forgot to look for it! I've been so busy with the Columbo episodes that I haven't been bothering with anything elsenot even Ellery!

Columbo is very cool I grew up with that show, and have all the eps of DVD now. The movies they did later are okay, but the 90 minute ones were way better.
Good old Levinson and Link you just can't beat them.
BTW if you have a decent connection on Youtube, you should look up a little Gem called Rehearsal for Murder Great Cast! Robert Preston, Lynn Redgrave, William Daniels, Patrick Macnee and Jeff Goldblum.
Also good is "One of my wives is missing" with jack Klugman and James Fransiscus
              nitey nite!

I think that 75 minutes was the best time for the Columbo episodes. In most of the 100 minute ones, it was obvious that they were just filling up the extra time with unnecessary scenes.

                  Have you seen the show
                  Banacek
(early seventies show)? I'm watching an episode in which David Wayne is the guest star. So far, I'm very impressed with his acting! That man could play any male character IMHO.

The man could do anything from an uncaring husband in Three Faces of Eve, to the Mad Hatter in Batman, to a leprechaun on Broadway and everything in-between.

                      Also good guy roles (
                      How to Marry a Millionaire
                      ,
                      The Tender Trap
) and extremely evil guys (one episode of
                      The Twilight Zone
). I found him to be quite scary in
                      The Three Faces of Eve
                      .
