    Gourmet Night
    and
    The Anniversary
    .
Best two sight gags ever -
    1:
    Gourmet Night
. Basil giving his disobedient car "A damn good thrashing!".
    2:
    The Anniversary
: Basil attempting to neck a bottle of scotch, and having Manuel knock his arm and empty the entire liquor bottle over his head.
Classic physical slapstick, played with an edge of demented intensity that makes it at times incredibly dark as well as hilarious.

I couldn't pick one mate. I soil myself whenever I watch any episode. Absolute comedy gold.
You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!

My favourite episode is the one with Joan sanderson as the deaf hotel guest. I love seeing Basil for once up against someone as unreasonable as he is.

                • Basil the Rat
(so difficult to come up with a list of 'favorites' for this show without just naming every episode in the whole damn series)
Wait a minute who am I here?

I love Sybil's role in 'The Builders,' when she's ranting about O'Reilly, and then he appears in front of her.

Watched a TV special last night that ran through all the episodes picking out the best bits but with John Cleese choosing his favourite moment. His number one favourite moment was when Basil the Rat popped up in the biscuit tin.
