Where I live we achieved local elimination 79 days ago. Life is pretty much back to normal and has been for a long time, no face masks, no social distancing.
Residents are allowed to leave with permission but have to self isolate for 14 days upon return, police spot check and there are stiff fines and prison sentences for anyone not quarantining.
Our freedom is now dependant on other places doing better but I'm not holding out much hope.

I agree, it's frustrating. The irony of the "save the economy" argument is that our economy has only fairly minimal impact and will recover much quicker because people made the effort in the early days.

It must be incredibly annoying. Although I quite enjoy social distancing and was quite sad when it ended here, I think I would be feeling quite pissed off at people by now.
