I agree 100%. I always liked Mr. Bentley. He always seemed very laid back and very friendly to everyone surprisingly even to George no matter how many times George slammed the door on him. I don't think I've ever remember seeing him get mad at anyone. Once he overheard George didn't want to go with him and his sister for diner and would rather go to a party hosted by Mr. Whittendale and instead of being angry with George, he calmly and respectfully told George that he didn't have to attend. He also explained to Louise about George and his song that was written for her. When she found out George paid for the song. He always did have a very unique way of dealing with things in everyday life

I did here Mr. Bentley raise his voice once, and that was when Jessica, the granddaughter along with her girl scout troop, (but it wasn't the girl scouts, I just can't remember what they were called). Anyway, the kept hounding him to buy their awful cookies. He finally snapped and yelled through the door, "Please go away!".

My favorite was Mr Bentley, too! I loved his stories where he'd talk about the history of something and he's supposed to be boring, but I found it fascinating. I also thought he was very attractive, but I've always been drawn to men with unconventional looks.
Ravage the land as never before, total destruction from mountain to shore! -

Mr. Bentley gave me the creeps as a kid, but watching the show now, I appreciate him a little more.
However, Mother Jefferson was my favorite character. Season 4 is airing on Starz now, and it's obvious her health was failing badly. She looked so frail in the episodes where they thought Louise was kidnapped. Zara Cully was delightful!
