I started stand up in L.A. (the WORST place to start a comedy career) two or more years after her (late 2010). I've seen her perform at many mics around town where no one was paying attention like so many of us who go onstage in this hellhole for stand up.
I'm so happy that she broke the bonds of L.A. hell. Her family is awesome, too.
