Awesome writing, directing, and top bill actors. Today you would only see CGI fakery, the actor's would even taste salt water today.
This was without a doubt a block buster when people would line up at theaters everywhere in the WORLD!!. -

He means they used PRACTICAL effects as opposed to DIGITAL effects. Practical is always better.
Terminator 2 is the gold standard of utilising both practical and digital effects. The entirety of the T-800 was practical effects, as in actual dummies, animatronics, stuntmen, while approximately 40% of the T-1000 was CGI.
If T2 were made today, not only would the entirety of the T-1000 be CGI, but most of the T-800 would be as well.

I agree with all you said. It's the first film I remember seeing in the theater and one scene in particular scared the living s–t out of me at a young age. (You probably know what scene I'm referring to). A nail-biting, jaw-dropping edge of the seat thriller like no other! I still revisit it almost every year.

Nope, it's the scene where Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) is under water investigating the sunken ship and a dead man's head comes popping up out of nowhere. I literally jumped out of my seat when I saw that for the first time. The scene you're talking about is good too but it didn't scare me half as much as that dead guy's head.
