I've seen Jaws more than 100 times, I'd say, but I always spot something new with each viewing. One time it was Quint not having a life jacket for himself at the end, the most recent was the noticeable bite marks on Ben Gardner's boat on top. What things have u noticed on repeat viewings? Maybe it's another one I haven't.

If anyone says shooting stars I'll put three barrels on you and send you under the boat.
At least they're not calling the meteors "UFO's" like some poster here did a short while ago.
I always hear something new and engaging in John Williams' score when I watch the movie. There's so much more to it than the iconic but repetitive two-note shark motif, such as the use of "farewell and adieu" as Quint's leitmotif and the references/tributes to various classical composers throughout the score. -

Watching the Bluray I find a ton of new stuff. The copy of Jaws that I've watched the most was a VHS taped from the telly. It was a pretty miserable 4:3 aspect ration cropped strangely in many parts. Still, it worked.

I was re-watching the film this morning and noticed these for the first time too. -

The huge set of tits on the lady putting the sign up out front of the realty shop when brody is running thru town trying to put signs together to put up on the beach. You can see her but might have to pause the screen to get a good lookdamn she's the hottest chick in the movie. Though that's not saying much..brodys horse toothed wife is no beaute

Watched Jaws 2 last week and Jaws is on TV now. The police chief truck is a Chevy in both movies, but white/gold in Jaws and white/blue in Jaws 2.

I find this with a lot of movies. The TV adaptation of Pride & Prejudice (Firth/Ehle), reveals many previously unseen background stuff going on with every viewing. That said, there's a lot of extras and such in the background at dances and such so it's hard to see everything in one or even several subsequent viewings. It's habitual to focus generally on the main characters - I have to remember to occasionally focus on background stuff in order to observe objects or extras and to do so is actually quite revealing and fun.
A good few years ago I just happened to be watching an episode of Dallas and noticed in a street scene an extra (female), in a vibrant pink suit. You couldn't miss it and my line of vision was trailing her and she appeared no less than four times walking in random directions! From then on I periodically try to focus on the extras (when I remember to). Same happened in an episode of Downton Abbey at a garden party - two men in distinguished costumes appeared several times in "illegal" spots which were out of sync with the dialogue being exchanged in the foreground. I am amused by such inconsistencies

I just caught the bite marks on the Ben Gardner boat last night as well. I also noticed how many of the townspeople are linked. The man and woman Larry beg to go into the water @ the 4th of July are in the town Hall meeting, at least the man is for sure. You also see them sitting along with Ellen and the Tofts while Martin is watching paranoid before Alex Kitner gets it. Also "bad hat" Harry's reaction when the man at the meeting asks if the 3000 dollars from Mrs. Kitner is in cash or check.

I like the shrewd look Harry gives when Quint starts scraping his nails down the blackboard.
And then Mr Taft looks behind him to see if he's blocking anyone as the camera tracks towards Quint, sees that he's blocking Harry and goes on blocking him. Small town power games.
One that caught attention the first time I saw J was the number of bikes in Harry's shop; a multitude, far too many for just the local population. It begged a question as to why, which was answered by the Forth of July montage. It was just so difficult to get my head around that many tourists descending all at once.

In a place where the furthest you can be from the sea is 70 miles, every holiday must surely count as a seaside holiday?
Where I grew up, which is a tourist town, by the end of the first week of the summer hols we'd know the name of every tourist.
Small town? So small you could carpet it.

It is more than 70 at a guess but I live in a place near Cardigan Bay (Wales). Wales is basically a car park for the English
I am not Welsh, however. I call myself a German living in "Englandistan"
I just went camping in Cornwall as it goes. They talk beep about beep over there and feel they are a country in their own right. They even have a flag which I find abhorent. I was once asked "Where exactly in England is Wales?" LMFAO - the Welsh suck and I have about as much regard for them as Quint had for Hooper

He he, my sister is dating a guy from Devon, so I get the vibe you're sending.
And, it's official- 70 miles is the figure.
