Do you happen to know when you're a kid, you love disney heroes/protagonists and hate villains, then when you get older, you relate more to the villains than you think?

It's been ages since last time I watched The Lion King. I haven't seen the remake, though.
If Mafasa is Scar, I imagine the story would be a bit darker and more personal for Simba to have a father who is evil.
