i love the Exorcist inspired haunted piano (that John Carpenter would also be inspired by two years later) and the orchestrated music…
but the music playing when the girls are at boot camp detention, and when the boys are tux shopping…
it sounds like Benny Hill in a disco…

I agree, but some of it was also on point, like Sue Snell finding out that Chris and Billy were up to something at the prom.
De Palma put too much cheese in his film and made a few missteps. The score was also Psycho rip-off sounding in parts, like when Carrie exploded the car.
