What was Sue and Tommy's plan for Carrie after the prom

When Sue shows up she is obviously not aware of Chris' plan, and Tommy mentioned going by the Bee Hive (I think) after the prom. So does anyone know what Sue and Tommy may have been planning?

I cant remember if Tommy falls in love with Carrie in the novel, but based on the film one certainly gets the impression hes on his way. Frankly, I think they look terrific together and wouldve made a great couple. In the brief time they spent together he brought her out of her shell.

Right. In the book, Tommy begins to respond to Her at the prom and is especially mesmerized by her eyesbut it's not like he's ready to dump Sue and run off with Carrie.
He just suddenly finds her mysteriously captivating once she's spiffed up and they spend time together

Everyone seems to think that Sue and Tommy had some horrible ulterior motive for Carrie and this was just NOT the case. Sue realized what Carrie was going through and felt bad for her so she simply wanted Carrie to have a good time. That's ALL. Not everyone was out to hurt Carrie in the movie. Sue, Tommy and the gym teacher were the only good guys and actually wanted something good for Carrie. That is all.

The whole point of the book was that Sue and Tommy did
not
have a nefarious ulterior motive for Carrie. Sue was accused of that and was questioned intensely at the hearing. All sorts of little private, personal details were examined and I think that while some of the authorities didn't quite believe her, most did. She later wrote
My Name Is Susan Snell
explaining it all and reminding us that maybe their idea, which was simply to be nice to Carrie and give her a good time, could be seen as stupid or naive, but "we were kids."

She later wrote My Name Is Susan Snell explaining it all and reminding us that maybe their idea, which was simply to be nice to Carrie and give her a good time, could be seen as stupid or naive, but "we were kids."
Beyond what the genuine motivation of Sue was for Carrie to be able to attend the prom in her place and to assuage her own guilt in the part she played in Carrie's humiliation, Sue within herself may have known intuitively that her and Tommy weren't going to be together forever.
As it stood, Tommy also got feelings for Carrie and due to outcome, no-one got to EVER spend anymore time with him either, least of all Carrie and Sue.
Sue was also concerned about pregnancy in the novel, but the blood came at the end and she didn't even get to carry Tommy's seed.
I always wondered though how it could have fared for Carrie, if Chris and Billy hadn't decided to prank the prom and all went smoothly, and Carrie got home safely, because Margaret was waiting in the shadows to cut her witch daughter down. Poor kid was doomed right from the start.
