Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Carrie

I realize Tommy has just been struck with a bucket and the gymnasium has erupted in pure chaos, but does it still bother anyone else that Miss Collins only looks up at Carrie and doesn't talk to her?

I think she knew what Carrie was doing and capable at that moment. She probably thought it was best to not even approach her in her state of mind.

I absolutely agree with you, LadyDi on this. I believe that Miss Collins did know that Carrie was causing the destruction and mayhem. But not approaching her didn't do Miss Collins much good. She screams Carrie's name twice before Carrie killed her. She knew Carrie was doing it.
        You gave a good answer.
Can't say I agree with you on 'It was the boogeyman.' from the
        Halloween
board though. I hear 'What's the boogeyman?' LOL. Oh well. I guess we all hear differently.

If she's saying "what's the bogeyman?" then Loomis's answer of "as a matter of fact it was" doesn't' really makes sense. He would say "he was the bogeyman" or something like that.
It's okay it's been a debate for a long time. We all hear that line differently!

Miss Collins was the only one who deserved not to get killed. That was disappointing.

There were quite a few people there, who deserved to live. The couple that Carrie & Tommy were sitting with. The hot girl, that was freaking out on the stage and Miss Collins had to calm her. Of course, Miss Collins. Just to name a few.

Why would Carrie need to be checked on? mental breakdowns didn't get the amount of attention and respect back then as it does today.
NO one knew where all this weird stuff was coming from, why would they think Carrie was responsible? because they tormented her? if everyone who was tormented in the world retaliated like she did, there would be no bullies. [damn it!] and if they thought it was carrie who did it then this is what they get for tormenting people and being douchbags.
                Oh God. Fortune
