I was the weird kid that compensated for being the easy target for insults and being put inside bins, etc by becoming the class clown.
I also didn't know how to socialise "properly" until Year 10 (about 16/17 years old).
I did pretty well in my classes and had a handful of acquaintances with maybe only a few real friends who I barely spoke to until towards the end. Some I still maintain sporadic contact with, others not so much and they have their own ****ed up lives.
They called me "Stalker" in high school because I would hang around this group of people but never really say anything for years. My nicknames have changed a lot over the years.
I had terrible hair throughout most of my childhood and teens and was quite overweight. Much less so now. -

I loved high school - in year 7 I was friends with the 'cool kids' but hung around with my own gang.
Then I came out and my popularity grew and grew throughout school
always hung with the popular girls and had the protection of the popular boys.
I may have only been an accessory, but it was fun
I was the first guy to come out, the others weren't as lucky and got bullied
tbf, they were weird though and not cute- whereas I had more in common with the girls than they did.

What year was this when you came out?
I went to a very large high school and back in 1983 there were maybe three guys who were out. Most people didn't care, but once in a while they got harassed or chased for it. -

This was when I was 12 so around 2005.
I don't think there were any out gay guys at my school because I remember it being a big thing when I came out - teachers had a 1-to-1 with me about it in case I needed support and everything

it is a Catholic school though.
I think 2 more people in my year came out by the end of school - they both got bullied
Then I remember a few 6th formers coming out after I did and when I was like 16 leaving school there were already a sprinkling of younger gays there who seemed to be doing pretty well.
My cousins kid goes there now and she says pretty much every kid there is a homo nowadays

yeah i loved my school years too. i had a lot of fun with the cool crowd, even tho i never really was part of them due to my social awkwardness, but as i said, i was really into drugs and people would like me for that alone.
i sometimes wanna go back to those years but not for the school part lol only for the fun part and to meet some of those people again even tho a lot of them ended up sucking, and i was not really close with many but we had fun and the ones i'm still cool with i have unending appreciation for.
suck it. -

the key to be accepted by the so-called "cool" kids is to get into drugs like the nerds we both are and tell them stuff about it they didn't know yet. and most of the "cool" kids at my school didn't know **** about drugs lol

One of the reasons I was deemed a nerd in high school was because I turned down an offer to smoke a joint the first week I was a freshman in high school. The word got around that I did this and that alone sealed my fate as a nerd for the next four years of high school.
