Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Logan's Run

If they would really start filming a re-make of Logan's Run who would you want to play Jessica? For me there are three choices. Either one would make a great Jessica. They are Bonnie Wright, Jennifer Lawrence or Anne Hathaway. Who are yours.

Heck, I wouldn't care, as long as she was attractive enough and could play the part and was a good competent actress.

As much as I am anti-remake, this is one of the few movies where I think the concept is so good it could be updated and modified for contemporary audiences. I'm kind of amazed it HASN'T been remade yet.
I have no idea who I'd want to cast in the update, but I could certainly see Alicia Vikander being in the running and Domhnall Gleeson being offered the role of Logan.
Revenge is the most important meal of the day.

I can't for the life imagine Domnhall Gleeson playing a brutal killer. Will Poulter, perhaps.
The restitution of life is no great feat. A variety of deaths may well enter into your punishment

Beyond just who to cast, I wouldn't mind a remake that puts more emphasis on why they don't just let people run. Sandmen who actually feel that runners are a detriment to society. More emphasis on them protecting their culture and less of them killing because 'that's what they do.'
If it was ME directing the remake, I would explore how betrayed the Francis character felt. Here was Logan, a guy he thought was his friend, a guy he thought he could trust, going against the very fabric of everything they worked their entire lives to maintain.
Also, a Jessica with a great rack.

I wouldn't let Jennifer Lawrence ruin a great film like this. Anyone else is fine. Has to be someone innocent looking and preferably ok w/topless/nude. Rebecca Hall type, but younger. Daisy Ridley, Alicia Vikander, Amy Adams, Adle Exarchopoulos would be top picksor a no name actress.

Jessica 6 = Jenny Agutter, one of the most fresh and naturally beautiful young starlets of the 70's who could also act. Miss Agutter never had a problem with nudity either. See all of her British schoolgirl charms in Nicolas Reog's classic "Walkabout".

Jennifer Hudson. She can also sing a few songs while seeking sanctuary, too. Her newly toned body should look magnificent in 23rd century skimpy see-through attire. Oscar winning? No doubt.
For Logan, they should go with Lia Thomas, who is not an actor but has put on some remarkable performances. Could be a breakthrough and Oscar will take notice, for sure.
For Logan's best friend Francis I would want to find someone a little more comedic and maybe less threatening than in the movie. So my choice would be Joe Pesci.
In the role of Holly, searingly played by Farah Fawcett in the original as the model of female beauty and health and sex appeal, I think the modern audience would want someone who more accurately reflects the current times of diversity and inclusion. Without a doubt, that has to be the great singer Lizzo. She would be wearing a bodysuit that captures her every magnificent curve.
For director? Is there any doubt. Jordan Peele. The man will end up with more Oscars than all other directors combined. Even that staggering number doesn't begin to describe his brilliance, his innovation, his sheer talent! Who else could take The Twilight Zone and actually improve on it? No one.
