I really don't care if Jessica is that much younger than Logan, but I just wondering how old she's actually supposed to be.
She's green and tells Logan she's a "6" (not just her classification) does this mean she's 16 or 22? Since she says she's going to go Red next year I thought 22. But Logan says that he is also a 6 (red 6) and that he is 26. Help! I'm confused!

I may be wrong, but I didn't think the numbers corresponded to their age, but to their lineage. Logan was the sixth Logan. The clothing color was supposed to be an indication of their gae, too.
I'm just expressing my opinion.

From the dialogue in Cathedral between Logan and Billy, we know that the change from yellow to green happens at 16. When Jessica says she's 6, I would imagine that means she's in her 6th year of being green, making her 21. I believe she said that she goes red in a year, so red would be 22-30. That does leave a small discrepancy, since red 1 would be 22 and red 6 would be 27.

No the number designates how many of you there are, the colors designate the age range.
Remember in the nursery, Logan 5 is trying to get the attention of the newborn Logan 6.

I think jcohan is right. I just saw this again a few days ago and there are a few times that they mention the numbers and colors as representing age. Like he said, in Cathedral, Jessica mentions she's a 6 and that she'll go red in a year. She also asks the little girl, "When do you go green?"

Those are two different things. Logan 5 is a 6. That's three pieces of information:
Logan is his name.
The 5 is that he's the fifth Logan.
The 6 relates to his age range.
A few years prior to the movie, Logan 5 would have been a 5.
I could still be wrong, but that seems to make a sense.
I'm just expressing my opinion.

I don't think so
In the book, the maximum age was 21 years old to the day, and the color of your palm crystal correlated to your age:
Yellow (age 0-6), then Blue (age 7-13), then Red (age 14-20), then blinks Red and Black on Lastday, and finally turns Black at 21.
So the colors correlate to your age range, and have no numerical tie to your name.
The age was changed to 30 in the movie version, but the rest of the correlation remained the same.
Which again, is why Logan 5 who thought the baby in the nursery might be his, says "it's not everyday you get to see a newborn Sandman", and thus was calling him Logan 6.

I don't know which part of my comment you are disagreeing with, but I definitely never said that the colors they wear relate to their name.

No, you said their number relates to their age, which it does notother than, it is the sequence in which they are born from that name.

Crockett-John's response is the most sensible application
Logan is his name.
The 5 is that he's the fifth Logan.
The 6 relates to his age range.
This is also how I interpreted it back in the 70's and every subsequent viewing after that.
I dont need you to tell me how good my coffee is.

Well lisp would only
become
onomatopoeic, if a person with a lisp, pronounced the word.unlike true onomatopoeic words like pow or bang or yes, spit.

It sounds to me as if there is a "zero year", and it goes up to 7. Jessica is therefore 22. She goes to Red 0 on her 23rd birthday. Then Red 7 lands her right on her 30th birthday and Carousel.
