I know what the poster is talking about unfortunately I can't recall the name either. They were escaping form an underground city via a tunnel system and they got out to see the sun rising which was the end of the film.

no judging from the youtube trailers I'm quite sure that isn't it.
the film in mind is not particularly a B flick, but there is I believe a sunrise at the end when the protagonist emerges from a hatch.
time for me t do some more digging it is possible I have a movie or 2 mixed up?

THX-1138 ends like that. It's Robert Duvall as the main character. He drives a car through a tunnel and escapes, then climbs up a pipe where he opens a hatch and sees the sunrise.

It's funny how this theme has been reused in sci-fi films throughout the decades.
I also thought of 'Parts: The Clonus Horror' initially, but it doesn't END that way.
