I've never seen this movie, but from the look of the pictures it seems like it would be excelent to watch while high.

I LOVED this movie when I saw it for the first time in 1978-79 or so. And yes I was high. When I found it on bootleg tape I bought it and every subsiquent veiwing thereafter I was high. It was no good on "shrooms" but GREAT on pot. I was also quite young. Fast foward to now. I no longer indulge. It was interesting but brutal to watch. I kept falling asleep. I still enjoyed the film, but it was NOT as good as I remembered. So.I cannot condone watching the film while "high" but am not apposed to it either. Personally I feel lots of things are better with an altitude adjustment. Though the film is quite dated.

If you wish to remember and understand what you have seen, formulate any meaningful ideas about what you have seen, or discuss the film in any meaningful way with anyone at any time in the future, I would strongly advise against seeing this (or any other) film "high."

Well a big part of it will depend on whether you use Sative or Indica strains. One might make you analyze it to death while the other might cause you to miss portions due to going in and out of sleep or running to the kitchen for food.

To say that any meaningful idea's cannot be formulated or expressed "high", weed or otherwise is ridiculous. I dont condone taking drugs but I just as strongly believe that taking drugs does not make anything you formulate or create any less meaningful. You think David Bowie was sober when he acted in this film? They don't call him the "Thin White Duke" for nothing. Smoke a joint and listen to The Beatles, Doors, Led Zep, Stevie Wonder, Kinks, Killers etc and you might be able to get your absurd point of view changed. You think film makers, Script writers etc have not been affected by the drugs they have taken, and communicated that in their films? perhaps not directly but I know they do. However, if you really believe what your saying you need to mellow out and smoke a doobie buddy. I don't think this would be a particularly good film to watch high, but this is only because I was underwhelmed by this film as a whole, not to say i didn't enjoy it. It's another movie taking a grim view of the world through the eyes of an outside perception.

Most movies do seem to be better when you're drunk or high. If you're in a better mood, it just enhances the experience. But it does make it harder to remember afterward.
However, I had a friend who watched Ridley Scott's Robin Hood while high and said it was still terrible and boring, so some films are beyond the power of MJ.
On The Man Who Fell to Earth, I dunno. That could go either way. It kinda seems like the director was high already, so maybe a double high would mess things up ?
