        It's a fantastic cameo. Funny to think just a couple of years later the same actor would be playing the bumbling Otis in Superman, with his "yes Mr Luthor", "right away Mr Luthor" lines

          Ned Beatty made that dialogue not sound entirely ridiculous. It's great writing, begs to be read, but unless read by a professional orator, is kind of clunky when spoken.
          But go to the quotes page and read it, you will remember how Beatty said those lines and you will read it like that in your head.
          That is a performance.
