Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — The Fantastic Journey

I've just posted this on Katie Saylor's messageboard as well.
On her Wikipedia page there's a link to a newspaper archive which shows that she became Katie Strassman after marrying attorney Harvey Strassman.
There is another link to a property site that shows that the couple are still residing in a luxurious property in LA since 2003 (apparently worth 1.2 million
according to the site so our Katie's done well for herself 😉
To be honest before everyone had general access to the internet (which was around the late 90's) there were always rumours floating around about people who have been out of the limelight suddenly dying (usually ironic or tragic deaths). A prime example of this would be singer Bobby McFerrin who wrote the anti-suicide anthem 'Don't worry be happy' in the late 80's. Because he was a one-hit wonder who dropped out of sight in the 90's there was a rumour that floated around for years that he commited suicide (I even remembered some British shows on cable TV in the 90's talking about the 'irony' of his demise). However it is untrue as he is still around today.
The same could have applied to Katie Saylor who became 'Katie Strassman' and totally dropped out of public after 1977. Leaving enough time for people to think she had died which led to these 'ghost-posts' on the internet that she somehow died of cancer in 1991. These rumours would have started circulating in the late 2000's.
I think it is great that Katie is still alive at 61. And I wish both her and her husband Harvey all the best.
However I am surpised how she didn't come forward to deny the rumour. However since she had retired from acting in the 70's and is now in her 60's maybe she decided not to bother (or maybe that was Katie herself who added those links on Wikipedia which verify that she is still alive)
I'd like to thank the person who added those links to Katie's Wiki page.
And behalf of all Katie's fans I would like to send her all our love
and to thank her for giving us a most memroable performance in the Fantastic Journey 😉
    "Be seeing you!"

I did some similar research during a career break and found the same information on her marriage and real estate
Somebody should pick up the story with a local paper??
