    I think NY NY has the worst wedding scene I have ever seen on film. And I dont mean badly done, but the worst marriage proposal that you can imagine. Come on, this guy goes, get your shoes on, get a coat and lets go beep marry. Unbelievable! And she actually married him!!!

        Am actually surprised there's not more posters on the this thread agreeing with you.
        The middle of the night, dressing gowns, snowfalls; with the right couple, chemistry and dialogue it just may have worked. But with an alternating screaming and cajoling Jimmy and a perplexed Francine, all I can say is,
        "P-u-h-l-e-e-z Marty , what were you thinking"?
        IMO hideous!

          Well.. I think that was the point. Everything about their courtship/relationship was unconventional. The scene leading to the wedding is counter to classic film musical modes.
          "I slept with you and you're in love with my husband. What the hell am I supposed to do with that?"
