This whale song contains over five million pieces of information. The Bible contains over four million.

"This whale song contains over five million pieces of information. The Bible contains over four million."

Unless they specify precisely which aspects of the Bible and whale songs signal "information," in the information-theoretic sense as developed by Claude Shannon, then this statement is pure Hollywood nonsense. Audiences should be better edumacated, so as to know the meaninglessness of such statements when considered in isolation.

It's a good line from a movie. Nobody said it was scripture. Lighten up a bit.

No! It's the greatest line in any movie, ever.

Uh, you people understood that by "greatest" I meant "most unintentionally funny," didn't you?

Then you should have said that. The line was not funny.

Edumacation! Of course! Just the other day, I was thinking the exact same thing. I'd love to be better edumacated. It's very nice, and squishy too!

You people are fools! A whale song has thirteen million pieces of information, rivaled only by Shaun Cassidy's remake of Da Doo Run Run!!!

Rachel told Nolan she exaggerated to prove a point to him. This was likely one exaggeration.

This thread has less than five pieces of information. A single bark from a dog has six.
