They are in the same movie. It was a moderate thriller, as I recall. Not a comedy. This is a good sign that a few people actually remember the scene. At least I'm not imaging it! I'll check out An Innocent Man. Also, I believe that the guy being harassed may have been a journalist or a PI. I hope we're getting close to figuring this out.

Is it Unlawful Entry? I only say it because Madeline Stowe is in it, with Kurt Russell and Ray Liotta? Now it's driving me nuts!

So you recognize the scene too?

I either recognize it or you're committing an evil movie trivia sucker punch by plucking up a bit of every b-list movie that has bad cops and a sensitive (yet very clever, brave and tougher than you'd ever imagine) leading man who still pines for his ex-wife but although she still loves him and will end up with him in the end, won't fall for him in the beginning because he either had a one night stand or works too much. If she looks like Madelyne Stowe, Andie McDowell or Anabelle Sciorria (sp?) you have the B-Movie trifecta! Extra points if they broke up because his one night stand was due to them losing their child and she was "just never there for him" and if, after the wife and bad guy are "dead", the bad guy actually attacks the good guy but doesn't finish him off because the wife grabs a gun that both guys forgot about and shoots the bad guy in the back of the head, scooping up her near dead ex-husband and vowing they can make it through anything now!
I'm just sayin' this could go either way! 🙂

That is a comprehensive answer, however (as I recall) the movie isn't about the guy's relationship with his wife.

It's weird that so many of us remember this but all kinds of searches I have tried on google etc., turn up nothing.

sounds a bit like a scene from
                    Midnight Run (1988)
, but that was a comedyreading the first scene, I'm definite its not an old movie, but a fairly newish one (2000-2010)
I think i also remember scene one, oddly enough my brain says the protagonist was john cusack or someone who looks similar playing a journalist who uncover police corruption..
Life is a joke, but atleast its a good one.

No, wasn't Midnight Run. Love that movie, though.

                        Hi
From where are you ? I ask to know if it could be an european movie. I am french, and i don t think that it is a french movie.
If it is european, it seems to be more british cop movie.

I suggest you Google, "Bad Cops in movies" circa, 2000. Or something similar, that would get you to a list of movie suggestions. Then read the year it was released, before scanning the plot of the movie.
This is just a suggestion; but after 15 years, it might be worth a try. Good Luck!

I can barely remember the movie but I think Tom Selleck was in a movie where he was framed . I think the movie is An Innocent Man. I really can't remember much of it..it came out in the 90s I think. Just checked came out in late 80's so perhaps not.

Great website, Toronto, but I already checked that one. An Innocent Man keeps popping up but this movie didn't star Tom Selleck. I hope we're getting closer!
