To expect a film made in 1976 to not be dated isn't realistic, SNF is about a culture, time, place, fashions and music of a certain time, the fact that it's dated means nothing, the movie has become a cultural iconic time capsule that documents a period in time, the 70's.

That's the good thing about film. It shows the world when it wasn't quite as stupid as it is today.
Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded.

                  True.
This movie might be from back in the day but it talks about so much **** that still happens today. I just saw it for the first time less than a year ago and was blown away how relatable it still is.

Without strife, there is only stagnation.

In a way, though, it's not dated: Someone feeling stuck, in a dead-end job and dysfunctional family, who wants to "break out," is very relatable.

Dig on the groove from these stacks of wax as we get down and funky to the soul sounds of these cats!
                            You're beautiful.
                            I love ya.

Super lame-ass so-called "criticism." You can say that same **** about any given film that's ten years old and of course about any given film from a past previous decade.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
