Just watched this movie again recently. I actually wonder if Bobby saying "I did it" but the film never really exploring what it was he meant might have been a case of film editing. As many know, a lot of filming is done and cut out before the final cut is released as the actual movie. Some of what's cut out ends up as "deleted scenes" and "alternate endings" as part of the Special Features on DVDs. I've heard it said a lot more deleted stuff could be put on than they actually do.
Anyway, I wonder if whatever Bobby did was something that got cut out from the film. I don't have any proof, but it's just my .02.
